Had a light meal here with the missus, and she stayed on to have lunch with some baking friends. Service was superb and the staff were friendly and helped several mid and large groups to get tables. They had a variety of pies that day, and the ladies enjoyed the forest mushroom pie but found the sourdough bread crumb to be hard, perhaps due to overtoasting. I had the chicken pie, and it was good but had more mushrooms than meat. Not sure if each pie is suitable for two though. The ladies enjoyed the pasta dish. Prices were a little high, I felt, but the ingredients used were of quality.

I love this cafe! The food is so unique, you can't get it anywhere else. I'm so over the usual egg benedicts and cafe stuff, we need more places like this. I get why it's popular, even though it's a bit pricey. It's worth checking out, and I got to give them props for being creative. Staff is also very patience in explaining each items on the menu that I could see passion in her eyes!

lives up to the hype! normally there are 1-2 dishes i don't really like and when the menu is more adventurous it will feel a bit gimmicky but this was not the case with MMBH!! monk's hog yolk foccacia ($25) — 4/5⭐ foccacia was nicely toasted, chewy, but not to the point where my jaw has a workout (much appreciated!!). the smoked bacon lardons had a sweet touch to them, but a little dry and a bit too salty. the cheese choices were reaaalllly good and with the hot honey drizzle the dish altogether wasn't too dry. as long as you have a bite of all the components together it is very very delicious. ???? the basque tartine ($29) — 5/5⭐ i rarely give a 5 star rating but this was srsly good sourdough was delish and not crazy hard to cut through (which is usually the case in other cafes), the mushrooms were not overpowering and the potato chips gave a good variation in texture. at first bite the brown butter balsamic comes through but not in a 'jelak' way!! i'm not a huge foie gras fan so i didn't take huge notice of it but it definitely was not bad. very nice, would order again. morel mushrooms & aussie broccolini ($22) — 3.5/5⭐ not the hugest fan of cream pastas but the lemon cuts through the heaviness of the cream, making it more pleasant to eat. love the mushrooms, broccolini was nice and tender. sourdough pasta was al dente and the shape grips the sauce great. beef ragu pasta ($28) — 4.5/5 ⭐ crowd favourite! beef was tender and not dry, love the twist that MMBH made on this with the chutney and creme fraiche, the flavours all complemented each other and balanced out the tang of the tomato which sometimes i don't really like in ragu. sourdough pasta was al dente and again the shape grips the sauce well. can't go wrong with this, but i think a bit expensive. iced latte ($6.80) — 3.5/5⭐ solid, price is quite normal for cafes. one thing i will say though is maybe presentation can be improved — the amount of coffee served is normal but the glass is too big so it looks like they are only serving half a glass of coffee, which i'm sure some people will complain about. overall, food is good, would come back again. it is quite expensive, but considering that a lot of the pasta and sourdough is made in-house, i'd say the value is comparable to or better than most other cafes in sg. the interior is very well-designed, seating is a bit tight but not uncomfortable. we came on a saturday for brunch and had to wait about 25 mins for a table. staff are really lovely!

Great food at Marymount BAKEHOUSE. The interpretation of the shepherds pie is refreshing, less heavy that the traditional ones and very full of flavours. The lemon cream morel sourdough pasta is also very appealing to the palate with the refreshing lemon cream taste. It also makes the pasta less heavy and very light and flavourful. The service is great and the wait at the place is not too long as the table turn over is fast. Recommended

Little India for the first time in a while. I visited this restaurant for the first time to have lunch at a restaurant that I had been interested in for a while. The clean ivory walls and ceiling are accented with a red brick counter. I'm happy that they have my favorite firm bread When I looked at the menu, I saw lemon cream pasta I'm in the mood for a refreshing taste today, so I order without hesitation. The wonderful refreshing lemon flavor and the marriage of salt as an accent! It goes great with the cheese sprinkled on the pasta I would like to try other dishes as well. And most of all, I would like to thank the customer service of the lady who is as refreshing as a lemon and runs the counter and serving the food all by herself. I will visit again.

Sourdough themed food and bakes. Tried the mushroom pasta and the chicken pie. Free salad due to anniversary deals! Loved all the food :) and service was so warm and friendly! Highly recommend. Small space though so will probably fill up fast. And if u are driving - parking may be a challenge due to limited roadside lots.

Tried the Mushroom Forest Pie, Monk’s Hog Yolk Focaccia, Morel Mushrooms with Aussie Broccolini, Mini Wedge, and Drunken Chicken Pot Pie — everything was unique and delicious! The vanilla latte was creamy and not acidic, just the way we like! The staff were very friendly and passionate about introducing their food. Really enjoyed our brunch here, definitely coming back!

This small establishment is crowded even on a weekday. Love the pretty dishes and they taste good too! Went for light lunch with 3 adults and one infant, we shared the popular recommendations (SHEPHERD'S PIE and THE MONK'S HOG YOLK FOCACCIA) and they were impressive. Will definitely visit again to try other dishes available.
